Thank you for visiting the Adventure Place website. Your privacy is important to us.

Adventure Place and its affiliates are committed to maintaining the accuracy, security and privacy of personal Information in accordance with applicable legislation.

Adventure Place’s Privacy Policy is a statement of principles and guidelines concerning the protection of Personal Information of our clients, service providers and other individuals (“you”). Please note that this Privacy Policy only applies to the AdventurePlace.ca website and not to any other websites that you may access from Adventure Place, each of which may have privacy policies that are materially distinct from this Privacy Policy.

  • We pledge to hold all information you provide to us in absolute privacy.
  • We will NEVER share your name, e-mail address or personal information with any third party except if you are a donor, and specifically authorized by you.
  • We NEVER sell or rent our mailing list.
  • Only authorized employees may access your information. All employees are strictly required to adhere to our privacy policies.

Consent

By submitting Personal Information to Adventure Place, you agree that we may collect, use and disclose such Personal Information in accordance with this privacy policy and as permitted or required by law. Subject to legal and contractual requirements, you may refuse or withdraw your consent to certain of the identified purposes at any time by contacting the Adventure Place Privacy Officer. If you refuse or withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide you with certain services or information which may be of value to you. If you provide Adventure Place with Personal Information of another individual, you represent that you have all necessary authority and/or have obtained all necessary consents from such person to enable us to collect, use and disclose such personal information for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Content

The Adventure Place website contains information from us, you, and other users. You agree not to copy, modify, or distribute, our copyrights or trademarks. When you give us content, you are granting us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable right to exercise the copyright, publicity, and database rights to that content. (We need these rights to host and display your content.) What Information Do We Collect?

Canadian privacy legislation defines “Personal Information” broadly as information about an identifiable individual or as information that allows an individual to be identified. For the purposes of this policy, Personal Information means information about an identifiable individual as defined from time to time in applicable privacy legislation. Generally speaking Personal Information does not include what is considered business contact information: your name, title or position, business address, telephone number, facsimile number or e-mail address.

The types of Personal Information that Adventure Place may collect about you includes:

Donation

When you donate with our site you will be asked to provide an email address, your first and last name, your phone number, and address. With your permission, we will publish your name in our annual report and post it on our website as part of the list of donors. This information will also be used to send you a donation receipt.

Newsletter

Optionally you may also choose to opt into our newsletter. We use your email address to send information related to news and updates about Adventure Place.

Browsing the Site

When you visit our web site, we collect information about your visit (e.g. session length, pages visited, network location) based on the IP address of your computer, or your unique user identifier (if you are a registered user). Our web site uses cookies and access logs to facilitate this tracking. This information is used to analyze how people use our web site. It is also used to save your favorites or saved listings.

Third Party Websites

In the case of third party web sites like Facebook, and Twitter – we do not collect any information and simply forward you to their web sites. Please review their privacy policies.

How Do We Collect Your Personal Information?

Adventure Place utilizes a number of internal and third party methods to recognize visitor data such as IP addresses and browser settings.

Ending your relationship with Adventure Place

You agree that the Terms will continue to apply until terminated by you by notifying Adventure Place, or by closing your accounts where we made the option available to you. Notice should be sent to us in writing at contact@adventureplace.ca. We may terminate our relationship with you if you breached, or unable to comply with the Terms, required to do so by law, or we are no longer providing the service.

Automatic Collection

Adventure Place’s internal servers and software automatically records data when you visit the website. No personal information is revealed in this process. Adventure Place may use such data to compile traffic data about the kind and types of visitors that use the website at specific intervals.

Cookies

From time to time, Adventure Place may use the standard Cookie feature of major browser applications and third party providers as well as employ internally developed cookies and tracking code which allows Adventure Place to store a small piece of data on a visitor’s computer about the visit to the Adventure Place website. Personal information is not captured in such cookies, nor does Adventure Place use cookies to mine Personal information. Personal information is only captured when a visitor signs in to the system and willingly discloses such information.

Third Party Websites

Adventure Place may maintain links to other websites. If you choose to visit other websites, we are not responsible for the Privacy Practices or content of those other websites, and it is your responsibility to review the Privacy Policies at those websites to confirm that you understand and agree with their policies.

User Choice Regarding Collection, Use, and Distribution of Personal Information

You may choose not to provide us with any Personal information. In this case, you may be able to visit the website, browse listings; however, you will not be able to access and use those portions of the website which require your Personal information.
If you do not wish to receive information and/or promotional materials from Adventure Place or from our partners, you may select the appropriate ‘opt-out’ at the time you create your account or may unsubscribe from our newsletter or other materials we send to you.

To Whom Do We Disclose Your Personal Information?

Adventure Place will keep your Personal Information private, and will not share it with third parties unless to fulfill your order, such as for payment, or if Adventure Place is required by law to comply with a valid legal requirement such as law, federal regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order.

Website Areas Beyond Adventure Place’s Control

The Site may include links to third party websites. Please note that any Personal Information disclosed in such areas is public and becomes public information. You should use caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

How Do We Protect Your Personal Information?

Payment for donors is through PayPal. To help protect the confidentiality of your Personal Information, Adventure Place employs administrative and technological safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of your Personal Information. Where Personal Information is sent to a third party for processing we ensure, through our contacts with them that all Personal Information is kept secure. We operate secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems.

Our Commitment to Data Security

Adventure Place has security measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse, destruction and alteration of the information that you provide us or we obtain from you. We will have no liability however to you or to any third party arising out of any such loss, misuse, destruction, or alteration.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

Adventure Place reserves the right to modify or supplement this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make a change to this Privacy Policy, we will post such changes on our website and make such revised policy and changes available upon request to the Adventure Place Privacy Officer. However, Adventure Place will obtain the necessary consents required under applicable privacy laws if it seeks to collect, use or disclose your Personal Information for purposes other than those to which consent has been obtained unless otherwise required or permitted by law.
